社工在醫療健康領域就業面很廣，比如像是健康服務、老人照護、婦女服務、殘障服務、兒童家庭服務、國際發展、移民和難民服務、社區工作、個人及家庭協調、團體工作、政策發展、倡導研究機構等都需要社工。根據澳洲就業網站Seek的數據，社工平均年薪為$85,000 到 $100,000澳幣。

Migration｜移民機會
社工是澳洲中長期移民清單上的移民專業，在澳洲移民局公佈的2022年12月技術移民邀請數據中，社工境內和境外的申請人以65分的基本分即可獲邀189獨立技術移民，491偏遠地區擔保（境內申請人）則需80分。除了獨立技術移民外，各州的州政府也為社工提供州擔保等移民機會。

Australia Association of Social Workers（AASW）
職業評估學歷要求
完成AASW認可的社工專業的學習，學習期間至少有2個不同的實習，其中一個實習必須是直接實踐項目，實習時間至少980個小時。
職業評估英語要求
過去三年內的雅思A類總分7，單項不低於7（可以是六個月內的兩次雅思考試成績拼分，但兩次總分均不能低於7，且每個單項不低於6.5）。
以下情況有機會豁免雅思要求，但AASW依然有權要求滿足豁免條件的申請人提供雅思成績）：
- 在澳洲/加拿大/新西蘭/愛爾蘭/南非/英國/美國完成英文授課高中；且
- 在上述國家完成三年制英文授課學士或以上學位
⚠️ 注意事項
- AASW只接受雅思英文測試，不接受其他英文考試成績
- AASW只接受線下筆試或機考模式的雅思成績，不接受線上雅思考試
- AASW目前不接受雅思One Skill Retake（OSR）

AASW認證課程

社工碩士通常為兩年，適合已經完成學士，研究生想轉換跑道讀社工科系的學生。

⚠️ 社工碩士申請注意事項：
學術入學要求：申請人需完成學士或以上學歷，此前的學習中至少有一年人文社科或行為科學相關的學習。關於學術背景要求，每個學校有不同的審核標準，由該校社工課程所在部門根據學生成績單審核。
如果學生無法滿足社科或行為科學的背景要求，部分學校提供短期銜接課程，可以彌補背景不足，詳見下文課程介紹。
英文入學要求：社工科系的英文要求比別的科系相對較高，大部分學校要求為雅思 7 分，部分學校接受 PTE 測試。學生如果已經在英文國家完成學習，比如在澳洲完成學士，部分學校有機會豁免英文入學要求。
