社工Social Worker 的主要職責是評估個人、家庭、特定社會群體的需求，並提供輔導服務和專業方法，讓這些群體的人獲得應有的社會福利，以解決生活中的問題，改善生活，獲得更好的發展。
Career ｜就業方向
社工在澳洲各個層面都可以給特定的群體提供輔助和支持，就業面很廣，例如像是健康服務部門、澳洲政府福利機構、政府部門、社區、私人企業都有相關的社工職位。社工也會接觸到不同的社會群體或個人，以及參與不同的社會工作領域，例如老人照顧、婦女服務、殘障服務、兒童家庭服務、國際發展、移民和難民服務、社區住房、個人和家庭協調、團體工作、政策發展、倡議研究等。
根據澳洲政府 Jobs and Skills 的數據，社工平均週薪可達$1,850澳元。根據澳洲就業網站Seek的數據，社工平均年薪為$85,000 到 $100,000澳元。

Migration｜移民機會
社工是澳洲中長期移民清單上的移民專業。在最近澳洲移民局公佈的2024年9月EOI獲邀資料中，社工在189獨立技術移民中以75分的分數獲邀。除了獨立技術移民外，社工可以透過不同的技術移民途徑移民澳洲，例如州政府擔保或是雇主擔保等途徑。

職業評估學歷要求
完成AASW認可的社工專業的學習，AASW認證的社工課程會包含一定時數的課程期間的實習。
職業評估英語要求
過去三年內的雅思Academic 學術類，總分7分，單項不低於7分（可以是六個月內的兩次雅思考試成績拼分，但兩次總分均不能低於7，且每個單項不低於6.5）。
以下情況有機會豁免雅思要求，但AASW依然有權要求滿足豁免條件的申請人提供雅思成績）：
- 在澳洲/加拿大/紐西蘭/愛爾蘭/南非/英國/美國完成高中，且為英文授課；且
- 在上述國家完成三年制英文授課學士或以上學位
⚠️ 注意事項
- AASW只接受雅思英文測試，不接受其他英文考試成績
- AASW只接受線下筆試或機考模式的雅思成績，不接受線上雅思考試
- AASW目前不接受雅思One Skill Retake（OSR）

AASW認證課程
國際學生想要成為澳洲合格的社工，需要在澳洲的大學完成社工學士或碩士課程。社工學士通常為4年，社工碩士通常為2年。
在社工專業的學習中，你將會學到相關的理論知識與實務知識。
理論知識包括澳洲社工的工作內容、行為準則、溝通方式、案例分析、了解澳洲健康福利體系、了解澳洲不同的群體所面臨的問題以及如何幫助他們等等。

碩士
社工碩士通常為兩年，適合已經完成學士，研究生想轉換跑道讀社工科系的學生。常見課程有：
- Master of Social Work
- Master of Social Work (Qualifying)
學術入學要求：申請人需完成學士或以上學歷，此前的學習中至少有一年人文社科或行為科學相關的學習。關於學術背景要求，每個學校有不同的審核標準，由該校社工課程所在部門根據學生成績單審核。
如果學生無法滿足社科或行為科學的背景要求，部分學校提供短期銜接課程，可以彌補背景不足，詳見下文課程介紹。
英文入學要求：社工科系的英文要求比別的科系相對較高，大部分學校要求雅思4個7，部分學校也接受PTE或其它英文要求。若學生如果已經在英文國家完成學習，例如在澳洲完成學士或以上學位，部分學校有機會豁免英文入學要求。
